• New Public Art Installation Unveiled at Convention Center
  On May 9, 2012, leaders unveiled a public art program at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Called "Windows Into DC: Cultural Couture," the exhibit showcases couture fashion with scenic art installations along M Street, NW and a visual narrative highlighting six distinctive Washington, DC neighborhoods along the N Street corridor, between 7th & 9th Streets, NW.

• Shaw Main Streets Honors Three at 2012 Gala
  At its 2012 biennial gala, Shaw Main Streets named the recipients of three awards: Shaw Champion, Shaw Community Partner, and Shaw Game Changer Business.
• Shaw Main Streets Holds Historic Fundraiser
  Shaw Main Streets' biennial gala took place on April 18, 2012 at Long View Gallery (1234 9th St., NW). The event raised approximately $80,000 for the commercial revitalization and historic preservation non-profit, ensuring that the historic Shaw neighborhood will continue to thrive.
• Gala Auction Items Announced
  Eleven exciting packages will be auctioned off by drag queen extraordinaire Lena Lett at the Shaw Main Streets 2012 Gala: Shaw in Bloom on April 18, 2012.
